Butterfly stroke: No Pain No Gain

I am a swimmer...I've been doing this since 2008. Recently I have started to attend a swim workout class at Westminster along with helping start a swim club on campus. Even though its fun lately its been insane. I've recently learned that my dolphin kick isn't exactly perfect. Reason: rolling my body underwater. It sounds simply to do but unless your Michael Phelps or Natalie Coughlin its actually really hard. So just like learning to do flip turns and practicing those I am now attempting to learn how to do butterfly stroke. The fly isn't easy because your only allowed two kicks per stroke, you have to roll your body underwater and there's a certain tempo/rhythm that's used. Today when I went swimming I told one of my friends, " Whoever invented the butterfly stroke should have thought twice before they decided to integrate it in swimming!" But really swimming is good exercise and its low impact. I never really thought about why I use swimming as part of exercising but it seems to work for me. Now if only I can do a perfect 100m fly!
